Great story brother Giordano. It gets me thinking: Maybe this is something that some others of us can do in our local area, offer to give JW q&A's at churches, those of us who are okay at public speaking and don't get emotional and angry. Keep it friendly and factual. I'd love to do this myself especially since I still identify as a Christian. But considering I'm still PIMO I'd have to wear a disguise and use a voice changer. I'd also have to walk there with my disguise in a backpack so my vehicle wouldn't be seen. I'm not even joking ☺

I was invited to address The Presbyterians at their church
by Giordano inso i was asked to give a presentation at the oxford forum which is sponsored by a local presbyterian church.
it's a very old church founded in 1758. it's way out in a rural area and if your interested here is their web site.. for a quick look at a beautiful setting: http://www.oxfordchurchlex.org/ yes this image is eye candy but up close the architectural detailing is pretty impressive............ there is no way you are going to confuse this church with a jehovah's witness soon to be closed kingdom hall.. the pastor told me that they would have 15 to 20 people attending my presentation about the jw life and beliefs.
it would start at 10am and end at 10:50. he would open the meeting with a brief prayer and welcome.

Pioneer School scare tactics
by neat blue dog ini just talked with a pioneer who came back from school and she said that at the end there was emphasis put on two things.. 1: stay loyal to the governing body and their teachings.. 2: beware of propaganda.
they said that in wartime the enemy will use propaganda to break the spirit of or confuse the troops.
they said the same things is happening now, so reject negative reports about the organization.. this pioneer (who is fully pimi btw and enthusiastic about it) said she asked her cotboe about if we really have that problem here.

She's pretty die-hard. Her husband is also a die hard JW, and is verbally and emotionally abusive towards her, often in public. As such she's very insecure, but also on edge almost constantly and assertive in an awkward way. She'd be one of the first persons to turn me in for apostacy. 😅

Special Talk
by EmptyInside inanyone listen to the "special" talk today?
i guess it was given by one of the governing body members and shown at all the halls.

To be clear: The special talk didn't have anything about money in it, just a basic Christian message for the most part (because it's for the public). What you're hearing about money just happens to be the Watchtower study for that week, the talk itself is only 20-something minutes.

As revealed in the Disney vs Netflix case, misuse of copyright law by the holder can even result on them losing their copyright if taken too far.

This pioneer (who is fully PIMI BTW and enthusiastic about it) said she asked her COTBOE about if we really have that problem here. He said 'You would think it's only in Russia, but it's really happening right now all over the United States, negative news about the organization'. Being a good JW she doesn't read news sources regarding JWs outside of JWdotORG, so she doesn't have a clue about the child molestation situation, etc. Instead of seeing it for the damage control that it is, she thinks it's some sort of prophecy about the nearness of the Great Tribulation, and she said 'They're trying to tell us that something big's gonna happen!' Little does she know it already IS happening and has been for years. I hate how they generalize anything they don't like as "propaganda", no matter how factual and logical it is. Cambridge Dictionary defines propaganda as "information or ideas that are spread by an organized group or government to influence people’s opinions, esp. by not giving all the facts or by secretly emphasizing only one way of looking at the facts"
By that definition the GB spews it out in spades!

After leaving the JWs - Has anyone stayed with Christianity?
by rulehayl ini recently made the decision to stop studying with my study conductor, due to a situation i found myself in that led to a high possibility of my unbaptized publisher "rights" being taken away from me.
i have since told my study conductor i have joined a new church (to which she dropped me like a hot rock, of course).... last time i posted on here, i was progressing nicely towards baptism, and was well into it.anyhoo, i like my new church, very hillsong-esqe.
so just wondering if anyone else has stayed the course of christianity after leaving the jws, and if so - where did you go?

I'm still in the religion for family reasons, probably will be for the foreseeable future. I don't believe in JWs anymore, but I'm still a Christian. I associate with other Christians online, but I don't believe in the concept of any 'true church'. I deal with individuals.

Therefore, how are we to understand apostate sites? Evidently, they're God-approved.
